Mosaic patio

This was a wonderful project where each student at Voyager Montessori made a mosaic stepping stone and then put them together to make a mosaic patio.

This started as a classroom art project where each student, working at their desk, was given a 12" square stepping stone. The students then used tumbled glass to create a design that we glued down with ceramic tile adhesive. When the adhesive dried we grouted the stepping stones and laid them out.

The mosaic patio was a school beautification project but making mosaic stepping stones like this is also a great classroom art project for school auctions and school fundraising art.
